Redstoneinvente respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you use Halo or purchase a Halo license.

1. Information We May Collect

Depending on how you use Halo, we may process:

• Email address.
• License key and activation information.
• Subscription or purchase status.
• Device identifiers required for license activation.
• Application version and macOS version.
• Diagnostic or error information if you choose to provide it.
• Student-verification information, such as a separate academic email address, matched institution/domain, and verification status, if you request education pricing.
• Support messages you send to us.

Halo does not intentionally collect information unnecessary for providing the application.

2. Payment Information

Payments are processed by third-party payment providers such as Paddle. Redstoneinvente does not directly receive or store your complete payment-card information. The payment provider may collect information necessary to process payments, taxes, refunds where legally required, fraud prevention, and billing.

3. License Activation

Halo may communicate with our licensing infrastructure to validate your license, activate or deactivate devices, verify subscription status, and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized license use. This may involve processing your license key, device information, activation status, and related identifiers.

4. Student Verification

Your Halo account email does not need to be your academic email. If you request education pricing, you may provide a separate university or student email address. Automatic verification checks whether that academic email belongs to a recognized university domain and uses our authentication provider to confirm that you control the mailbox. Your Halo purchase and account may remain associated with your personal Halo account email.

The university directory used for this check is community-maintained and may be incomplete. If automatic verification is unavailable, you may choose to contact us for manual review. We may ask for a redacted student ID or current enrollment document. You should hide information not needed for verification, such as your student number, home address, date of birth, and grades. Manual verification documents are used only to assess education eligibility and should not be retained longer than reasonably necessary for that review.

5. Information Stored Locally

Many Halo preferences and personalization settings may be stored locally on your Mac or browser. Depending on the feature, this may include interface preferences, profiles, visual settings, application configuration, student-verification session state, or other local customizations. Local data remains on your device unless a feature specifically states otherwise.

6. Analytics and Diagnostics

If analytics or crash reporting are used, they will be limited to information reasonably necessary to understand application performance, crashes, feature usage, or technical problems. Where appropriate, analytics will be aggregated or minimized.

7. How We Use Information

Information may be used to provide Halo, validate purchases and licenses, verify eligibility for education pricing, provide customer support, prevent fraud or abuse, diagnose technical problems, improve Halo, and meet legal or financial obligations.

8. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. Information may be shared with service providers where necessary to operate Halo, including payment processors, licensing providers, hosting providers, email-delivery providers, authentication providers, and infrastructure or analytics providers. These providers process information according to their own applicable privacy obligations and policies.

9. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for providing purchased licenses, maintaining transaction records, verifying eligibility where applicable, providing support, preventing fraud, and meeting legal, accounting, or regulatory obligations.

10. Security

Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to protect information under our control. However, no internet-connected system can guarantee absolute security.

11. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of certain processing. You can contact us to make such a request.

12. Children’s Privacy

Halo is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children where parental consent would legally be required.

13. International Users

Because Halo is distributed internationally, information may be processed in countries other than your own depending on the service providers involved.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Halo or our practices change. The latest version will be available on this page.
